Seven of The Kinks' classic albums from the 60s and 70s are to be reissued later this year.
Rather than hitting shelves all at once, the band's first three albums 'Kinks' (1964), 'Kinda Kinks' (1965) and 'The Kink Kontroversy' (1965) will be released on March 25th, followed by 1969's 'Arthur (Or The Decline And Fall Of The British Empire)' and 1971's ’Muswell Hillbillies' in May and finally 1966's 'Face To Face' and 1967's 'Something Else' in July.
Each reissued album will be released as a 2 CD deluxe edition with bonus material including rarities, outtakes, demos, session tracks and in-depth liner notes, reports NME.
Meanwhile Kinks frontman Ray Davies will be busy this summer curating London's Meltdown festival at the South Bank Centre, a job that has previously been taken on by David Bowie, Morrissey and Patti Smith.
