Many people may be nursing hangovers on New Year's Day, but if you're feeling in need of a pick-me-up in the form of live music, there's good news.

A number of Irish acts have been announced for a free family concert on January 1st in the heart of Dublin city centre.

It's part of the annual NYF Dublin festival, and takes place in Temple Bar's Meeting House Square from 3pm - 8pm.

Kila will headline the event. The trad fusion band will be joined by Cork soul man Brian Deady, alt-pop trio Wyvern Lingo, and young Offaly musician Luz.

It's a free, non-ticketed event - all you have to do is turn up on the day.

Not a bad way to start 2020, some would say...
