Just last week, Katy Perry revealed she is pregnant with her first child by showing her bump in her latest music video.
Katy is expecting the baby with her fiance, actor Orlando Bloom. Sadly, in the wake of the good news, tragedy recently befell her family.
Perry's beloved grandmother Ann Pearl Hudson passed away over the weekend at the age of 99.
The two were very close. The singer even brought Ann as her guest to various movie premieres and awards ceremonies over the years.
She marked her grandmother's passing with this heartfelt Instagram post.
Not only that but the singer also shared a video in which she told Ann she was expecting shortly before she died.
In the vid, she is sitting beside a frail Ann in her hospital bed.
She says to her: "Grandma, it's Katy. I just wanted to tell you, I know you're not feeling well, but I wanted to share some exciting news with you.
"I'm going to tell you that I'm going to have a baby. I'm pregnant, grandma! Katy is finally pregnant, she's the last one. But I have a baby inside me and I wanted to tell that to you."
