Her one-time rival Taylor Swift is gearing up for the release of her new album - so clearly, Katy Perry has got some new material, too. Old habits, and all that.

Perry's new single is called 'Small Talk' and was co-written by 'See You Again' singer Charlie Puth.

Her last album 'Witness' was released  in 2017, so it seems that we're due an album sometime soon, too. "Small Talk', a breakup song, follows on from 'Never Really Over', which was released earlier this year and took on a similar tone.

Lyrics from the song include "We went from strangers to lovers to strangers in a lifetime" and "We had conversations about forever, now it’s about the weather".

Perry recently hit the headlines after her song 'Dark Horse' was ruled to have infringed the copyright of a Christian rap song from 2009. She was eventually ordered to pay $555,000 of her own money after rapper Marcus Gray was awarded $2.7 million by a court.
