When Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan was convicted of assaulting his former fiancee in court last summer, it seemed to spell the end for the Leicester rockers.

The band had previously released a statement saying that Meighan was leaving the band "to get his life back on track" and were later accused of being disingenuous by not telling fans the full story.

In any case, Meighan's time with the band is over - but it seems that they are intent on ploughing ahead without him.

It looks like guitarist and songwriter Serge Pizzorno will take frontman duties, and touring guitarist Tim Carter has been drafted in full-time, ahead of a new bunch of UK tour dates.

"We’re incredibly excited to announce these intimate shows," they said. "We love our band, our music and our fans too much to ever stop! We’ll be playing all the classic tunes plus something new for the mosh pit to bounce too. So come join us for the biggest party of 2021! See you there."

There are no Irish dates in the pipeline as yet. Meighan, meanwhile, is said to be working on a solo album.
