Yes, it would seem that Justin Bieber can't be bought.

Or, at the very least, he can just about be bought, but then LeBron James will talk him out. It's been reported by TMZ that the Canadian singer was offered a whopping $5,000,000 plus production costs to play at the recent Republican National Convention in Cleveland, Ohio.

Had Bieber accepted the Republicans' offer, it would have been the single, largest paycheque of his career - and probably his last, too. The story goes that CAA, Bieber's agency, were approached by the Republican Party and offered the sum for a 45-minute concert which, they were promised, was non-political.

Even though it was in the middle of a Republican national convention. Right.

According to sources close to the Canadian pop singer, he was quite close to signing up. However, his manager and his backing band all refused to go with Bieber, were he to attend. Moreover, Bieber was reportedly told that he could say nothing disparaging about Trump, the GOP or even mention anything relating to the Black Lives Matter movement.

In the end, retired NBA star LeBron James was the one to turn Bieber off the idea. The story goes that LeBron James was set to appear at the RNC, which was one of the reasons why Bieber was considering the deal. However, when contacted, LeBron James denied this and urged Bieber not to attend the event or have anything to do with it.

Not only that, Bieber's manager was prepared to resign if Bieber accepted the Republicans' money. In the end, as we know, Bieber didn't attend and Scott Baio from Charles In Charge turned up at the RNC instead.

He was also Bob Loblaw in Arrested Development. This guy.
