Johnny Marr is to release his soundtrack for the Antonio Banderas starring movie 'The Big Bang'.

The Modest Mouse, Cribs and former Smiths guitarist spoke to NME.com about his work on the score.

"I've done new stuff which is kind of atmospheric and almost Warp-like ... Making the guitar sound electronic. Where other people would have used orchestras I've made the same effect using guitars."

The film's director, Tony Kratz (best known for producing David Lynch's 'Mulholland Drive'), supposedly asked Marr to do the score because he was a fan of his early noughties group The Healers.

Marr described the film, in which Banderas' character investigates the death of a stripper, as a "weird sort of half-detective, half-trippy" movie.
