Jessie J has been named BBC Sound of 2011. The Redbridge born singer topped the BBC's annual list of most promising acts for the year ahead.
After a longlist of 15 acts was announced in December, the top five were revealed one by one each day this week. Jessie J beat off competition from runners up James Blake in 2nd place, The Vaccines in 3rd, Jamie Woon in 4th position and Clare Maguire coming in 5th.
Jessie J's debut single 'Do It Like A Dude' peaked at no. 18 in the UK charts, while her song 'Sexy Silk' also appeared in the soundtrack for the Emma Stone starring teen movie Easy A last year.
Jessie J also recently picked up the Brits Critic's Choice Award for 2011.
