You're going to be hearing a lot about Kerry-born star Jessie Buckley in the future.

Rising Irish star Jessie Buckley is going to be a big name in cinema - just you wait. The actress received a Rising Star nomination at The BAFTA Awards, following her role in 2017's 'Beast,' and is set to be the star of upcoming musically-inspired movie 'Wild Rose.'

Here is the synopsis for the movie, as well as the trailer:

Rose-Lynn Harlan (Buckley), is bursting with raw talent, charisma and cheek. Fresh out of jail and with two young kids, all she wants is to get out of Glasgow and make it as a country singer in Nashville. Her mum Marion (Julie Walters) has had a bellyful of Rose-Lynn’s Nashville nonsense. Forced to take responsibility, Rose-Lynn gets a cleaning job, only to find an unlikely champion in the middle-class lady of the house (Sophie Okonedo).

'Wild Rose' is set to be an uplifting story with an original soundtrack to boot. In anticipation of it's upcoming cinema release, the first song taken from the soundtrack, 'Country Girl,' has been released. The song shows off Jessie Buckley's flawless singing ability, reminding us that she first appeared on screens as runner-up of the BBC West-End competition, 'I'd Do Anything.'

Take a listen to 'Country Girl' below. If this song is anything to go by, then Lady Gaga has some serious competition on her hands.

'Wild Rose' will release in cinemas on April 12th, the same day as the soundtrack.
