After famously cancelling his five live shows way back in 2014, the singer will return to Ireland on the September 9th and 10th, 2022, Aiken Promotions have confirmed.

It's been seven years since the controversy of his last announcement, but believe us, it's never left our minds. Initially supposed to play just two nights in the GAA stadium, Brooks was having none of it and wanted five nights booked so as to not disappoint any fans.

In the end though, every fan was disappointed and most of the country was left in a rage when all shows were cancelled. We can look back fondly now that a country singer playing a concert was all that really made us angry back then.

This summer though, the Garth Brooks saga awoke from its slumber as Croke Park lodged a planning compliance submission for concerts on the 9th, 10th and 11th of September 2022. Subsequently, the Irish public, once again went into overdrive.

Two additional dates were then added. That means the five concerts, including those announced this morning, may well go ahead.

We don't know what this means for the future, but it definitely feels like a prophesy has been fulfilled. Maybe everything is going to be alright, after all. Or maybe this saga ends up worse than the last. There's really only one way to find out.

Tickets for next years shows go on sale Thursday, the 28th of November from the usual outlets.
