The purpose behind the interview is a campaign started on Facebook encouraging music lovers to get the new Jape single 'Phil Lynott' to the Irish Christmas Number 1 slot.
You can read a short interview with Egan, during which he talks about his busiest year to date, his favourite Christmas songs, and his ambitions for 2009.
You'll also be able to hear a stream of the song on the same page.
The single is released a week from today - December 19th - which is plenty of time to spread the word to friends and family! Let's face it - does anyone actually want to be subjected to another emotionless cover of 'Hallelujah' over their Christmas dinner this year?
