Imelda May won't have to stray too far from her childhood home in the Liberties when she takes to the stage at the Iveagh Gardens on July 11th next. May is the latest addition to the ever-growing outdoor concert series, which already features performances from Dubliners Glen Hansard and Damien Dempsey.

Having spent formative years as a musician in other people's bands, May finally took the plunge herself in 2003 with the release of No Turning Back, but it was 2008's Love Tattoo which led to music press in Ireland and abroad really sitting up and taking notice. 2010's Mayhem only continued that trend.

Several gigs have so far been announced for the concert series after the success of last year's shows which featured headline performances from Lisa Hannigan and Rufus Wainwright.

Tickets to see Imelda May will go on sale from Monday 25th March, priced at €40.
