Cork's Musgrave Park will host its first ever music event when the City of Cork Symphony Orchestra join forces with Il Divo for a fully-seated five hour even on Midsummer's Night (Saturday 21st June). Tickets will be on sale from 1st February.

Commenting on the upcoming concert, Brian Murphy, Leader of The City of Cork Symphony Orchestra (who secured the operatic pop legends for Cork) said: "This high profile performance is sure to appeal to a wide audience and is a tremendous coup for the city and indeed the orchestra and its volunteers. Not since the hugely successful Bocelli concert at Collins Barracks in 2005 has an event of this magnitude been attempted and we hope to replicate that success at Musgrave Park in Cork, with a fully seated audience of 14,500 enthusiasts. Tickets for Bocelli sold out in 21 minutes so we are expecting that this high profile billing will be a sell-out and have people clamouring to be there for this great occasion. Furthermore, it’s on the Saturday night of The Irish Open golf tournament at Fota so it’s going to be a fantastic weekend to be in Cork".

Il Divo were originally formed by music manager Simon Cowell and have sold more than 26 million albums worldwide. The quartet have played several shows in Ireland over the last number of years, with sell-out concerts each time, while enjoying world-wide acclaim for their unique performances.

This is a fully seated event - a first for Musgrave Park, the stadium will have full bar and catering facilities and corporate entertainment facilities to enhance enjoyment of the concert and a park in ride system will be in operation to provide a seamless and well-organised event which is fully supported by Cork City Council and other stakeholders.

Tickets for this concert will be available from €75.
