The sixth Hard Working Class Heroes festival was launched last night at The Button Factory (pictures here), with sets from Carly Sings, New Amusement and Nakatomi Plaza.

HWCH '08
will take place in venues around Temple Bar (Eamonn Doran's, The Hub, Andrew's Lane Theatre, Meeting House Square and The Button Factory) across the weekend of September 12th, 13th and 14th.

This year, Entertainment.ie is delighted to be involved in the festival - we'll be sponsoring the download chart, which will ascertain the most popular tracks from the most popular bands particpating.

There'll also be a photography exhibition, and MUZU.TV will be creating live music videos for each of the 100 bands participating.

Perhaps most exciting of all is the news that Scottish blues-rock band Sons & Daughters will be curating a 'Scottish Invasion', and choosing some of their favourite musical compatriots to play at HWCH this year.

Bands, artists and photographers are encouraged to register on www.hwch.net now (closing date for submissions is July 2nd) - more details can be found at the site.

Day tickets are €19.85, weekend tickets are €44.98, and both are on sale now from Ticketmaster.
