The BRIT Critics' Choice Award has a somewhat illustrious history of picking the act who is most likely to make an impact in the coming year.

With the likes of Adele, Sam Smith and James Bay amongst the former recipients of the award, the 2018 name has been revealed as Jorja Smith.

The 20-year-old Walsall native is poised to do great things over the next twelve months, following in the footsteps of last year's winner Rag 'n' Bone Man. Last year, she finished in the Top 5 of the BBC's Sound of 2017 poll and released her debut EP 'Project 11' earlier in the year.

She also collaborated with Drake on his 'More Life' mixtape, so it looks like even bigger things are on the horizon.
