Record Store Day takes place in independent music shops around the world next weekend, Saturday April 22nd, and Dublin's Tower Records has announced its plans for the celebration.

Their Dawson Street branch will kick off a 10-day vinyl sale on Friday 21st which will run until Sunday 30th, and on the day itself they'll have numerous offers and competitions in-store, as well as a selection of titles from the RSD 2017 catalogue, of course. There'll also be free ice-cream (who doesn't like free ice-cream) from Teddy's outside the store.

There'll also be live performances from 12pm by the likes of Kíla and Interskalactic, while later that night a live music party will kick off at The Liquor Rooms at 5pm and feature HamsandwicH, Fiction Peaks, Katie Laffan and Third Smoke.

This event is free but you must have a wristband - which you can obtain by calling into the Dawson Street store from 8am - 2pm on the day.
