Some strange things have happened in the world of celebrity over the course of the past year - we're still recovering from the trauma of Gal Gadot and co.'s 'Imagine', for example - but this has to be up there with one of the strangest.
Last year when he was at home recovering from Covid, actor and musician Idris Elba put a call out on Instagram looking for a rapper who could freestyle some lyrics.
Canadian actor and rapper Connor Price answered the call, and the pair ended up collaborating on a song about actress Courteney Cox called... um... 'Courteney Cox'.
And not only was the 'Friends' actress okay with having a song dedicated to her, but she also makes a cameo on the track. Elba told ET: "“It was really quick actually! I sent her a letter through the publicist. It was like, ‘Hey listen I’m Idris.’ And it was just a was a weird letter: ‘I’m rapping on this song. And I don’t know if you fancy listening to it.’ I don’t know what she must have thought when she saw it."
Either way, she must have liked it - because she contributed her own verse taking potshots at the two men. Maybe because she's referred to as a 'cougar' in the first verse .
It's not the first time that Cox has dipped her toe into the music world - she's previously directed videos for Foy Vance and even Kodaline.
The video has just been released, and you can see it below:
