Grimes, aka experimental pop artist Claire Boucher, cut a gig short in New York on Wednesday night because of what she called a 'disturbing incident' that happened earlier in the day.
She was supporting Florence and the Machine at the Barclays Center when Brooklyn Vegan report that she walked off in the middle of her song 'World Princess II'.
They say she said: "We just had a really disturbing thing happen to us today, so sorry if my voice is shaking, it's been kind of a f**ked day… trying to keep it together."
Later, she posted tweets saying that she would explain what happened 'when it was safe and legal to do do.'
I will explain what happened at Barclays once I can safely and legally do so.

Earlier this year, Grimes had trouble on stage in Dublin when she was repeatedly shocked by her microphone.
