Watchmen and V For Vendetta writer Alan Moore is to feature on the next album from Gorillaz boys Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett.

The graphic novelist told Mustardweb.org that Albarn and Hewlett visited him from Northampton because he is planning ‘to do the libretto on their next opera project’.

Hewlett, the visual artist behind the animation of Gorillaz last year said that his next collaboration with Albarn would be a film and stage project called ‘Carousel’, and that it would be ‘even bigger and more difficult’ than Albarn’s epic opera ‘Monkey: Journey To The West’. Albarn had already written 70 songs for the project at that time.

Moore also revealed that he hopes the pair will contribute some pages to a future issue of his new magazine Dodgem Logic which is due to launch this month.
