Word on the street is that there's an interesting collaboration happening between members of Gomex, Phantom Planet and Maroon 5. Dajon Everett, Ian Ball and Olly Peacock of Gomez, James Valentine and Jesse Carmichael of Maroon 5, and Sam Farrar of Phantom Planet have teamed up in a massive 14 musican project called Operation Aloha.
The 14 set up camp on the Hawaiian island of Maui (we assume that's what inspired the name) for thirty days to record their self titled debut which they plan to release on May 12th.
Still no sign of Operation Aloha on myspace though, so no idea what they sound like. Gomez and Maroon 5 both have a knack for catchy pop hooks though, so let's be optimistic.
