Lil Wayne has pulled the plug on his debut Irish performance - temporarily at least. The platinum selling, Grammy winning rapper was scheduled to play The O2 this Friday night but has now pushed that date back to Wednesday 9th October.

This (very, very short notice) postponement, according to the press release, is to 'accommodate the release' of Lil Wayne's tenth studio album. Did they forget it was coming out, or something?

Lil Wayne himself said of the cancellation: "I am rescheduling my European tour to release my album, I Am Not A Human Being II, worldwide of March 26th. I don't want my tour, or my album, to be rushed so despite my best hopes I have made the decision to push the tour back to October 2013. I cannot thank my European fans enough for their patience and look forward to performing in the fall with Mac Miller. I never do anything halfway, and I promise to bring what will be an incredible live show experience."

Tickets will be honoured for the rescheduled dates and there's no word if they can be refunded from point of purchase.
