Amongst all the live music venues in Dublin it's sometimes easy to neglect the National Concert Hall when you're planning a night out. The Concert Hall has played host to a litany of incredible large scale concerts and operas throughout its storied history and, being arguably the best furnished and acoustically sound live venue in the country, the room imbibes the music it hosts with a deep, rich and incredibly satisfying sound - be it the main hall, or the more intimate John Field Room.

The latest excuse to plan an evening's entertainment in the NCH will come on Wednesday 14th May when the Greg Lloyd Group set up shop inside the John Field Room.

Greg Lloyd blends harmonies and textures found in the Jazz/Blues heritage together with an expressive and imaginative use of world music inspired by his time working on the film 'El Gusto', an award-winning film about the lost 'Chaabi' music of Algeria, in which Greg worked with a certain Mr. Damon Albarn. His latest project, the dynamic instrumental piano-based Greg Lloyd Group (GLG) craft original compositions and re-worked Jazz standards ranging from intricate and subtle to driving and rhythmic with melody at the heart of the set.

Tickets: €22.50 (€20 concessions)
