Having announced at the MTV VMA awards in September that 'Born This Way', the first full length follow up to her hit 'The Fame' album, would be released in 2011, Lady Gaga has finally revealed its exact release date.

'Born This Way' will be released in the UK on May 23rd, which suggests an Irish release date of Friday May 20th 2011. Although the album artwork has not been unveiled, a teaser photograph of Gaga sporting nothing but an oversized leather jacket with the words 'Born This Way' on the back was uploaded via Twitter, where the announcement was made.

Gaga also revealed that the album's title track will be released as a single on February 13th, the same day as the Grammy Awards. That news has sparked speculation that the singer will perform at the award ceremony, which sounds a bit like a no-brainer.

In other Gaga-related news, the Poker Face singer has achieved the highest selling album figures in 2010. 'The Fame Monster' sold almost six million copies during 2010, while Eminem's 'Recovery' came in second place with 5.7million copies sold.
