The singer-songwriter Frank Ocean, known for hits such as 'Thinkin Bout You', 'Pyramids' and 'Sweet Life', has been forced to cancel the remainder of his Australian tour following a vocal injury he sustained while on stage recently. The mid-twenties singer only completed one show at Melbourne's Festival Hall last night before bowing out of his other performances.

Ocean was due to play a second night in the same city this evening, Friday 26 July, before moving on to later dates at Splendour in The Grass festival in Byron Bay on July 28 and Sydney's Hordern Pavilion July 29 and 30. Due to his packed schedule, the performances will not be rearranged, but the audience will be reimbursed.

Live Nation promoters said in an official statement that 'After last night's concert in Melbourne at Festival Hall, it was necessary to seek medical advice due to vocal issues Frank Ocean experienced during the show.It has subsequently been confirmed that Frank has suffered a small tear to one of his vocal chords and has received medical advice that he must rest his voice. This makes the completion of his remaining Australian dates impossible'. With previous tour date cancellations due to political rest overseas, namely Egypt, Ocean has been experiencing a less than smooth ride this time around, but perhaps the New Orleans hip hop artist will  return to the stage with more force after this rest. Some advice Mr Ocean- keep penning those songs for other singers right now so fans won't feel you're ever really remiss.
