Four Irish HMV branches, three of which are located in Dublin, are set to reopen by the first week of September.

The stores to reopen are at Henry Street, Liffey Valley and Dundrum Shopping Centre in Dublin, as well as the branch at Crescent Shopping Centre in Limerick. The prohibitive rental prices surrounding HMV's flagship Irish branch on Grafton Street are thought to be too excessive to entertain reopening at this point.

120 new jobs have been filled, with approximately 70 of those going to original HMV employees who lost their jobs when the high street chain went into administration in January.

There are a further 12 former HMV branches throughout Ireland which remain closed and there is no word as of yet as to whether or not, or to what timeline, further branches will be reopened.
