Not that I want to jinx it or anything, but isn't this weather absolutely incredible? What better place to enjoy the sun's rays than at the second ever Forbidden Fruit festival, which will take place this coming Bank Holiday weekend at the grounds of the Royal Hospital in Kilmainham. As many a festival-goer will testify we're mostly programmed to expect rain when it comes to summer festivals in this country but repeated glances at www.met.ie promise "mostly dry with sunny spells" from Friday onwards and that is, in turn, increasing anticipation to the festival tenfold.
As for the festival itself, a very strong line-up has been assembled for the three days of revelry including headliners Leftfield, New Order and Wilco as well as a very strong supporting cast containing Friendly Fires, Death Cab For Cutie, Death In Vegas, Grimes, James Vincent McMorrow and Beirut.
In addition to the range of musical treats, a stable of comedians will also perform the festival and its line-up rivals most standalone comedy festivals in Ireland this summer with the likes of Patrick McDonnell, Ardal O'Hanlon and Dead Cat Bounce confirmed to appear.
The usual range of treats for foodies will also be on hand and, assuming they fix the bar issues which caused a bit of a fuss last year, Forbidden Fruit should be one of the best festival experiences of the summer.
Don't forget to enter our competition to win a pair of passes to this weekend's festival!
