Foo Fighters came close to headlining Glastonbury last year before Dave Grohl's broken leg scuppered their plans.

Florence and the Machine stepped in to fill their spot, but the American band are still waiting to cash in that IOU that organiser Emily Eavis issued them, when she said that she would definitely have them back as headliners at some point in the future.

It looks, however, as if that point may come sooner than expected, as Grohl and his cohorts are heading out on a European festival tour next summer - and they have the weekend of Glastonbury free.

Slowly announcing tour dates via their website foofighterspassport.com, hey're already set to play Open'er in Poland (June 29th) and Roskilde (June 30th) in the days following Glastonbury, as well as Nos Alive in Portugal and Mad Cool Festival in Spain in July - so could they be joining Radiohead as Pyramid Stage on either the 24th or 25th of June?
