After reports surfaced all the way back in September that Fleet Foxes had finished recording the follow up to their phenomenally successful debut album, the Seattle-based alt-folk group have finally announced details of said album.

Entitled, Helplessness Blues, the highly anticipated album is due for release on Friday April 29th via Bella Union. It was recorded over the course of a year and was mixed by Phil Ek who also co-produced with the band. The cover art, which can be seen above, was illustrated by Seattle artist Toby Liebowitz and painted by Chris Alderson.

And because Fleet Foxes are such generous sorts, they're giving away the album's title track as a free download from their website www.fleetfoxes.com. Totally free! They don't even want your email address.

Fleet Foxes have also lined up US and European dates for May, including a set at Barcelona's Primavera Sound festival, though no sign of an Irish stopover just yet.
