Eminem will return to the big screen in a new film written by The Shield and Sons of Anarchy creator Kurt Sutter, reports Deadline.com.

Sutter told Deadline that 'Southpaw' is a boxing movie, in which Slim Shady will play "a world champion boxer who really hits a hard bottom, and has to fight to win back his life for his young daughter."

Sutter claims he has been trying to convince Eminem to work with him for the last seven years, and that they finally connected over the film's story. Referencing the rappers issues with drug additions, he said, "At its core, this is a retelling of his struggles over the last five years of his life, using the boxing analogy."

Last year we heard a dubious story that Eminem was to produce and star in a ridiculous sounding 3D rap horror movie called 'Shady Talez', but there's been no more news on that one since. Eminem last graced our cinema screens in 2002 in the Oscar winning '8 Mile'.
