Elvis Presley has been named as the wealthiest dead celebrity for the second year in a row, according to US media company Forbes.

They say that The King is still raking in the moolah 31 years after his death, grossing $52 million between October 2007 and October 2008 alone. His ranking was sustained by fans commemorating the 30th anniversary of his death last year.

Their research also claimed that Presley earned significantly more than some of the biggest (living) pop stars on the planet, including Madonna and Justin Timberlake.

Trailing Elvis at number 2 was 'Peanuts' creator Charles Schulz ($33 million) and actor Heath Ledger.
