Elvis Costello has just been announced as the main headliner for this year's Sligo Live festival.

Taking place in venues around Sligo town between Thursday 27th and Monday 31st of October, Sligo Live celebrates folk, roots and indie music with over 100 events, 80% of which will be free.

Costello will be plugging latest album 'National Ransom', as well as playing old favourites, at IT Sligo's Knocknarea Arena on Saturday October 29th. It will be his only Irish appearance of the year. Tickets priced €40 plus service charge go on sale this Friday April 15th from www.sligolive.ie.

So, an excellent excuse to post Oliver's Army, like I needed one...
