His '68 Comeback Special' was one of the most famous concerts of all time - and now Elvis is set to make another grand return to the stage, 46 years after his death.

In recent times we've seen the enormous success of the ABBA: Voyage show in London, which uses AI technology to bring the four members of the Swedish pop band to life.

'Elvis Evolution' aims to do the same with The King, bringing a life-sized hologram version of Presley to London audiences from this November. The company behind it, Layered Reality, have previously worked on shows including 'The Gunpowder Plot' and 'Jeff Wayne’s The War of The Worlds: The Immersive Experience'.

They describe 'Elvis Evolution' as "a major new show celebrating the world’s biggest star of stage and screen, Elvis Presley, with a jaw-dropping concert finale and a personal invite to the after party. The show peaks with a concert experience that will recreate the seismic impact of seeing Elvis live for a whole new generation of fans, blurring the lines between reality and fantasy.

"A life sized digital Elvis will share his most iconic songs and moves for the very first time on a U.K. stage. Elvis fans can look forward to a memory-making experience like no other. Through AI and groundbreaking tech you’ll be able to witness iconic Elvis performances as if you were really there, and celebrate defining moments in Elvis Presley’s extraordinary life and career."

Once the show is over (with the central London venue TBA), the audience are invited to an after-party at an Elvis-themed restaurant with live music, DJs and performances.

Recent years have seen a revival in both Presley's music and his life story, with two big Hollywood films exploring his life hitting the big screens - Baz Luhrmann's 'Elvis' and Sofia Coppola's 'Priscilla'.

'Elvis Evolution' will later travel to Las Vegas, Berlin and Tokyo after its London run.
