They're not the most likely of musical bedfellows, but it seems that Elton John and Metallica have managed to find some common musical ground.
According to John, who turned 74 last week, he has "done something" with the metal giants as one of several "lockdown period" projects that he has recently undertaken.
He shared the news on his Apple Music1 show while in conversation with his guest, SG Lewis - adding that he had also worked with Gorillaz.
I’ve just done something with Metallica,” he said on 'Rocket Hour'. “During this lockdown period, I’ve been working with Gorillaz and people like that. I haven’t been doing any Elton [solo] stuff, but I’ve been doing great stuff with other people.”
It's still unclear, however, whether he meant a new collaboration with Messrs. Hetfield, Ulrich et al, or whether he meant contributing to Miley Cyrus's forthcoming Metallica tribute album, which was announced previously.
Perhaps working on that album gave him a taste for the likes of 'Enter Sandman' and 'Seek & Destroy'?
