Don't expect to see a collaboration between Elton John and Janet Jackson anytime soon.

In a new Rolling Stone interview, the piano-playing star spoke about being openly critical of his fellow musicians who had lip-synched in the past, such as when he spoke out against Madonna in 2004.

He said: "I say what I feel. I probably went too far with Madonna, and I got very personal and I wrote [to] her – she was very gracious."

However, it remains to be seen if Janet Jackson is equally magnanimous when she hears what he has to say about her.

Speaking about Jackson's alleged tendency to mime at concerts, he said: "you know, fucking music magazines writing a review of Janet Jackson saying, 'This is the greatest show – four and a half stars.' It's fucking lip-synced! Hello! That's not a show! I'd rather go and see a drag queen. Fuck off."

Incidentally, Jackson brings her 'Unbreakable' world tour to Dublin's 3Arena in early April.
