Elbow have revealed the title and release date of the follow up to their 2008 Mercury Prize winning album 'The Seldom Seen Kid'.

Entitled 'Build A Rocket Boys!' the band's fifth album is due for release on March 4th in Ireland. The album was recorded at Blueprint Studios in Salford, the same place Elbow recorded 'The Seldom Seen Kid' as well as 2005's 'Leaders of the Free World'. Produced by keyboardist Craig Potter, the record features a contribution from Manchester's Halle Youth Choir.

Speaking on BBC 6 Music, Guy Garvey admitted, "I didn't know whether it was good or not for a couple of weeks, but I'm very happy with it now."

He also revealed the new songs had been written with the band's arena shows in mind.
"It's impossible not to consider where you're going to play your music live when you write it," he said. "We very arrogantly assumed we were going to be playing arenas very early on."

Elbow are set to play The O2, Dublin, on March 31st. See our gig listings for more details.
