Elbow are to record the official BBC soundtrack to next summer's Olympic Games, the broadcasting company has announced. The track will be used across all BBC's Olympic content.
Elbow's Guy Garvey described the role as being a "real responsibility". "We are quite knocked out to be involved and it's been quite a challenge", said Garvey. " We have feelings of real responsibility as we will be the soundtrack to so many images of personal sacrifice and endeavour while the nation roots for and celebrates with Team GB".
The Manchester five piece recently celebreated 20 years together and have been nominated for three Mercury Award during that time, winning one for 2008's The Seldom Seen Kid.
