We imagine you might have been listening to a few party bangers over the weekend but it's a new week and it's time for some fresh sounds. We have taken the work out of it for you by cobbling together a list of songs that have been swimming through our heads over the last while.

Youth Lagoon - Cannons

In contrast to the medley of sounds you'll hear on this track it is interesting to note that Youth Lagoon is just one person, 24-year-old Trevor Powers. 'Cannons' is taken from his debut release, 2001's The Year of Hibernation - and it's really, really good.

Father John Misty - Well, You Can Do It Without Me

Chances are you've heard Father John Misty before. He performed solo under the name J. Tillman for years, before serving some time as drummer (and backing vocalist) for Fleet Foxes but it is his current work under the moniker Father John Misty that has left the biggest impression with us.

Arctic Monkeys - Do I Wanna Know?

It's hard to believe that Alex Turner has yet to see his 28th birthday, given how long his band has been in the public eye. The new Arctic Monkeys record 'AM' will be released in the second week of September so we'll be getting a significant road test of the new material at Electric Picnic - and we can't wait.

Chelsea Wolfe - Appalachia

Chelsea Wolfe's 2012 release 'Unknown Rooms: A Collection of Acoustic Songs' took us by surprise when we first heard it. A mostly unheralded release, it was propelled along by a powerful word of mouth movement and it's filled to the brim with a host of haunting, achingly beautiful songs.

YACHT - Shangri-La

Much like any of the other bands signed to the DFA Records label, YACHT are all about making you dance and have fun. 'Shangri-La' definitely fulfils that mission statement, all the while painting a delicate picture with the synth/drums combo. This one will stick in your head.
