Welsh diva Duffy has begun work on a new album, her first since her massively successful debut Rockferry in 2008. And it's no surprise that she's got some interesting names onboard in the form on Roots drummer Ahmir "Questlove" Thompson, and songwriter Albert Hammond, father of Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr, and writer of classics like "It Never Rains in Southern California" and "To All the Girls I've Loved Before".

The singer has just begun a planned three week session in New York collaborating with Questlove and Hammond on songwriting and production. Billboard.com reports a sourse as saying the new material "feels like it was born in 1963" in much the same way as her previous work. Duffy is expected to release the new album by the end of 2010.
