So, the rumours are true: Twisted Pepper will close its doors after seven years in business this weekend.

A Facebook post revealed that the venue on Dublin's Middle Abbey Street will no longer operate as a music venue, but will re-open in the coming weeks "with a new bar & food focus, mixed with another 5-10 random ideas that will inevitably ‘make no sense'."

"We will not be a restaurant, we have no idea where that rumour came from," it read. "Music will play a part too but it won’t be like it was before. We want to make things smaller, more intimate, more local, more creative… more fun."

They intend to go out with a bang this weekend, however, with a host of guest DJs taking to the decks for a mega-party that runs on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

What's more, if you get there before 10.30pm on Friday or Saturday night, you'll get in free.
