Dublin music venue Twisted Pepper, situated on Abbey Street in the city centre, is to close down according to a report today on the website of FACT magazine.

The venue, run by promoters Bodytonic, first opened in 2008 and has since house a coffee shop, a barbershop, a (now-closed) record shop and more in the building during its tenure, as well as regularly hosting DJs and club nights.

FACT reports that the building will become a restaurant, although the owners have yet to comment on or confirm the news.

Bodytonic also run several other pubs around the city, including The Bernard Shaw. Last weekend, they staged the first Beatyard festival to be held in Dun Laoghaire, with the likes of FourTet, Sister Sledge and more on the bill.

A Facebook event called 'Goodbye Pepper', claiming that the venue will close as early as this Thursday has also to be confirmed by the owners.
