Their album is undoubtedly set to feature on multiple tastemakers' end-of-year lists, and now Fontaines DC have achieved another milestone with 'Dogrel'.

Not content with making our 10 Best Albums of 2019 So Far list, Dublin-based five-piece's debut has been nominated for the Mercury Prize.

They join fellow nominees Idles, Anna Calvi, Foals, The 1975, Cate Le Bon and more amongst the list of ten albums from UK and Irish acts.

The ceremony will take place in London on September 19th.

In previous years, Irish acts Villagers, Fionn Regan, SOAK and Lisa Hannigan have been nominated for the prize, although there has yet to be an Irish winner.
