Swords-based band Kodaline have been tipped by MTV, who apparently cover music again, to be one of 2013's breakout stars. The Dublin band - all aged between 22 and 23 - have recorded an EP with Steve Harris, who is noted for working on material with the likes of U2 and the Dave Matthews Band. 2013 will see the band work on another EP and being tentative work on a first full length release.
MTV will announce an overall winner (after a public vote at brandnew.mtv.co.uk) on February 1st, with voting commencing a couple of weeks beforehand from January 14th.
Other names tipped to make it big in 2013 are Ebony Day, an unsigned English singer-songwriter who has amassed over 19 million YouTube hits, rapper K Koke, Gabrielle Aplin, Angel Haze, Disclosure, HAIM, Little Nikki, Rascals and Tom Odell.
