Having promised every American a free can of their vile sugary syrup if Guns N' Roses released 'Chinese Democracy' in 2008, the people of Dr. Pepper are not about to renege on their offer.
A voucher for a free can of the soft drink will be made available on www.drpepper.com for 24 hours next Sunday, and patrons have until the end of February to redeem it.
The vice-president of the company's marketing department said: "We never thought this day would come. But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."
Guns N' Roses have broken records with the MySpace streaming of their first new album in 15 years, with an average of 25 listens per second since it launched last Thursday.
