A Dolly Parton and Adele duet? It might sound like a bit of an ask, considering their styles are pretty different - but the country icon and the heartbreak balladeer could work together at some point in the future, if Parton has anything to do with it.

Parton, who about to release her new album 'Pure & Simple' next week, has made no bones about her admiration of the Londoner.

Speaking to Digital Spy,she said: "I love her! I would love to do something with her. I just love her. I love how she looks, I love how she sings, I love how she is. I would love to do something with her. Maybe write a song? Maybe do a duet. So pass that word along!"

She's such a fan that she's even dropped Adele's name into one of the songs on 'Pure & Simple'. "I love her, love her, love her!" she said. "Did you notice I used her name in one of the songs on the album? On 'Head Over High Heels', when I say 'I put on my tight dress, hair piled on my head, painting my lips red and my eyes like Adele!'"

Parton has spoken about writing with Adele in the past, telling The Sun in 2014: "I was so excited a year or so ago because I was hearing she was coming to Nashville and wanted to write with me. 'I was honored to find out she's a fan because I think she's spectacular.''

So far, that writing session has not happened  - but with Adele's worldwide '25' tour winding down in November, maybe we'll hear a collaboration sooner rather than later.
