David Bowie is set to release a new book, the first in a series, featuring images from his own personal archive. The announcement came from Bowie's official website, www.davidbowie.com, last week, after the news leaked out and was reported on Publisher's Weekly

Entitled 'Bowie: Object', the book is described as "a collection of pieces from the Bowie archive, wherein, for the first time, fans and all those interested in popular culture will have the opportunity to understand more about the Bowie creative process and his impact on modern popular music."

'Bowie: Object' will reportedly feature photographs of 100 items that give an insight into the musical icon's life, while Bowie has himself contributed "insightful, witty and personal" notes on each. Designed by Barnbrook, the book will be released in a number of different colours, though a release date has yet to be announced.
