The sequel to the 1982 Disney science fiction film Tron, will be soundtracked primarily by Daft Punk. The French duo have been hotly tipped for the project for quite some time, but according to Upcoming Film Scores, everything is signed, sealed and officially confirmed by Walt Disney Pictures. While the French duo previously experimented with their own film "Dart Punk's Electroma" about two robots on a quest to become human, Tron 2.0 will mark their first complete film score.

In case you don't remember it, Tron was one of the first films to incorporate computer graphics extensively, hence it's very basic style, where everyone looks vaguely like they should be playing quasar and driving in straight lines in teeny motorcycle jobbies. No Doubt Daft Punk's recognisable brand of funky electro should make a perfect addition to bring this sequel into the 21st century.

It is also reported that one half of Daft Punk, Bangalter, has also recently provided music for French director Gaspar Noe's latest film, "Enter the Void", which is due to debut at the Cannes Film Festival on May 22nd.
