Blur's Graham Coxon has announced that he will release an acoustic concept album this coming May. Entitled 'The Spinning Top,' the album features 15 tracks which follow the story of a man from birth to death.

Coxon explained "The album is mainly an acoustic journey although there is, of course, some explosive electric guitar action." Majorly influenced folk greats Martin Carthy, Davey Graham and John Martyn, Coxon wanted to use this album to "show how exciting acoustic instruments can be, how dynamic and rich and heart-thumpingly raw they can sound at a time when acoustic music seems either too cute or too soppy."

Coxon is currently touring with Pete Doherty, but will embark on a solo tour to support the album in autumn after completing his duties on tour with Blur this summer.
