A glance at Courtney Love's biography would suggest that perhaps she isn't the most ideal candidate to mentor anyone, but nonetheless the Hole frontman and former Mrs. Kurt Cobain has spoken to Grazia about how she attempted to give advice to Peaches Geldof who died suddenly in April.
"The girl was so vivacious, so full of life and it's weird and horrible that she has passed away", Love said before going on to add that she was not unduly surprised when she heard the news of her death.
"I read that heroin was involved and I was not shocked. I know how Peaches liked opiates.", Love said.
Love also detailed an experience she had with Peaches in the Chateau Marmont hotel in Los Angeles in 2010, where Peaches arrived to Love's room with a friend who had a bag full of prescription medication, including Oxycontin - known to some as "hillbilly heroin".
"My drug was heroin but I stopped taking it in the 90's", Love continued. "I have taken the pills, the Roxycontin, Oxycontin. Peaches was in my room with a friend who had a bag full of these drugs...like 500 pills and I wanted it so badly..."
"I had to physically push Peaches and her friend out the door. I was shaking and I kept thinking of the way her mother died and I thought I owe it to this girl to be an example. I was trying to help her, I was trying to mentor her, but at that point in her life it proved impossible. Now the parallels to her mommy are horrific. It terrifies me for my own child."
