Elton John closed the door on the touring chapter of his long and illustrious career on Saturday night, when he played the final date on his 'Farewell Yellow Brick Road' tour in Sweden.

The music legend wrapped up the lengthy farewell tour - which included a huge Glastonbury set a few weeks ago - in Stockholm, while Coldplay were also playing a gig in another Swedish city, Gothenburg.

Chris Martin and his bandmates appeared via a video message at John's gig, saying "From all the bands and artists you’ve helped and inspired, we love you so much. We are so grateful for everything you’ve done for the AIDS Foundation, anytime you’ve been kind to anybody."

They also played (via video link, broadcast to the Stockholm audience) an Elton John classic to mark the occasion, although it looks like John's audience had a muted reaction to 'Rocket Man', which you can see below.

John, meanwhile, has not ruled out the possibility of further one-off gigs, although he will not tour again in the future.
