Tributes to Christy Dignam continue to pour in from all corners, following the Aslan frontman's death on Tuesday.

Dignam, who was 63, had been receiving palliative care at his home in recent months, following a lengthy battle with rare blood cancer amyloidosis. His death was announced by his daughter Kiera, who posted a message on social media revealing that he has passed away peacefully at home.

Now, details of Dignam's funeral have been announced, and while it is a private affair - as per his wishes - fans and admirers of the Finglas man will have an opportunity to say goodbye.

The funeral will take place this Saturday, June 17th and the cortege will stop at a playing field opposite Erin's Isle GAA club in his native Finglas, where a video tribute will be played, before proceeding to the private service.

Kiera posted: "As many of you know [Christy's] wish was to have a private funeral, which we please ask people respect. We do however understand that there are many fans and friends who are grieving and would like to pay their respects so our dear friend and entrusted funeral director Michael Doyle has made arrangements for this to take place."

"Again, we would like to thank the thousands of people for all the messages and support not only in the last couple of days but over the last 10 years my Dad has fought and throughout his career xOne love, Kiera, Kathryn, Darren, Cian, Ava & Jake x"

The death notice stresses how the funeral is a private affair, but gives details on timings and locations, reading:
